Strong female character
Notable characters in Syfy’s list of greatest Strong Female Characters
Wonder Woman, Wynonna Earp, Arya Stark, Dana Scully, Hermione Granger, Moana, Buffy Summers, Peggy Carter
What does she look like?
Typically white, cis, straight, thin/lean/muscular, sexually appealing, also likable.
Likability tends to sway audience approval of what makes a Strong Female Character.
Stock character, as much a trope as Cool Girl
“Anomalous”; like she’s not like other female characters

Don’t we do a disservice when we continue to promote modern female characters as Strong Female Characters?
Why do women have to be Strong to be taken seriously?
It was meant as a way to take female characters seriously. Acknowledging that a show has well-developed female characters shouldn’t be seen as revolutionary.
